new york times, what?

A couple weeks ago the New York Times emailed us about a phone interview. She said they were talking to a few birth photographers across the country and wanted to chat with us.  She asked us all the questions people typically ask us when they find out what it is we do. She asked us to share some of our craziest birth stories, some of our most shocking requests, etc. She asked what is the earliest we have ever been contacted and was quite surprised when we said 4wks (which that has actually happened more than once). She said, what the heck did you think about the first time that happened? And so we laughed and I responded what I jokingly said to Kelly, NOT TO THE MOM. Hahaha. She said the lightheartedness of my response was perfect for the flow of the article. Thus allowing Beautiful Beginnings to be written up and linked in the NY Times. Our next feature is way more exciting, but let’s be honest…we never thought our names would be in the NY Times, much less the front page! Enjoy the article:

Honey, the Baby Is Coming; Quick, Call the Photographer!

ALSO, and just as important…HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! We especially need to thank our loving husbands who deal with us running out to a birth at any and all hours of the day! Thanks for your love, support and always encouragement! We love you! Here is Adam and Donny during one of their most proud moments of fatherhood! 🙂

Love, Melanie and Kelly.
